Millie the Mermaid and Fritz the Fish
Nancy Fisher is a local, award-winning doll artist. This piece, entitled “Millie the Mermaid and Fritz the Fish”, is of her own original design. Millie is handmade using polymer clay for her head, body, arms and hands over a wire armature, with a felted tail covered with fabric. Fritz has a styrofoam core covered in a batik fabric with inset eyes and fabric fins. This piece was included in the Petaluma Art Center’s “Journeys Through Light & Dark: Dolls as Tellers of Stories” exhibit in 2016 and is approximately 27″ tall.
(Please note that Millie’s hand sustained a small crack during exhibit – on her right pinky finger.)
