Ms. Cormia's 3rd Grade Class

Khara is joining the NCSA teaching team in 2024, bringing a wealth of experience from her diverse teaching background spanning Pre-K through 7th grade. Her journey in education began with the LifeLab garden science program at UCSC, where she cultivated a passion for environmental education. Khara holds a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, both multiple subject and science teaching credentials, and a MA in Education from the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute. In the classroom, Khara draws on her passion for learning and a belief in every student’s ability to succeed to inspire her students to create wonderful writing, solve challenging math problems, and have joyful learning experiences together. When she is not teaching Khara enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, engaging in activities like gardening, snowshoeing, hiking, camping, and biking. She is looking forward to feeling the cold weather of the winter months!
