Ms. Y's 6th Grade Class

Hi! My name is Danielle Yzaguirre and I teach 6th grade History and 7th grade Art. I have been teaching since 2007 and  I joined the NCSA team in 2020. I am a San Diego native and received my Art History degree and teaching credential from San Diego State University. Over the last 20 years, I have taught K-5 and highschool art, general education to 4th -5th grade and 6th grade history. In 2025 I made the transition to middle school and thoroughly enjoy working with this age group. When I’m not teaching you can find me enjoying one of our many lakes with my kayak or out hiking a new trail with my family.

6th Grade Social Studies

Students will learn about the ancient worlds from the Stone Age to the Roman Empire using G.R.A.P.E.S. to connect the movement of civilizations across time and continents. History is a perfect subject for individual exploration, and students will have the opportunity in each unit to deep dive into a relevant topic of their choice.
