I’m originally from Long Island New York. I moved with my family to Southern California when I was 12. I attended the University of Montana where I earned BA in journalism. I started teaching in 1990 after attending San Diego State University. My wife and I have been married for 41 years and have two grown children. Besides teaching, I’ve been a wildland firefighter, packer/guide and photojournalist.
