7th & 8th Grade Math
Cheri Barber is joining NCSA as the 7th and 8th grade math teacher this fall in 2023. Math is one of Cheri’s great passions in life, whether it’s teaching math in the classroom, working one-on-one with students, or playing with math theory on her own or with friends.
Cheri graduated from Cal Poly SLO in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry. After working as a chemist and a pharmaceutical sales representative, Cheri and her husband, Gabe, had three children. She homeschooled her kids through eighth grade while also tutoring other students in math from elementary through high school.
She got into classroom teaching a year and a half ago, teaching Kindergarten and then first grade at Grass Valley Charter School while working through her teaching credential with Cal State TEACH.
When Cheri isn’t teaching, she can typically be found outside running, walking, or hiking with her friends and family, nature journaling, or writing and thinking with colorful pens to express her thoughts.
