Ms. Criss- Harvey's 6th Grade

My name is Carrie Criss-Harvey, and I am thrilled to teach both 6th Grade Math and 6th Grade Art—two of my favorite subjects!

My teaching experience includes teaching 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th Grade Math and Science here at NCSA. My experience teaching Art spans a wide range of ages, from preschool through high school, giving me the opportunity to nurture creativity and artistic expression at every stage of development.

In my classroom, you can expect interdisciplinary instruction that blends creativity with rigorous academics while supporting students’ social-emotional growth. In Math, students will engage with sixth-grade concepts through a variety of visual, hands-on, and collaborative learning experiences designed to make mathematics meaningful and accessible.

I strongly believe in the creative potential of every student. In Art, I strive to foster a classroom environment where students feel confident expressing themselves, taking thoughtful risks, exploring new ideas, and discovering the joy of the creative process.

I look forward to an exciting year of learning, creating, and growing together!
